1. The fatal accident happened at night

Kasyoki lost his life in a grisly accident along the Nairobi–Mombasa highway at Primarosa area near Greenpark, Athi River, on Monday, September 22, at around 12.20 am.

2. His car collided with a trailer.

The accident involved a Ford Ranger, driven by Kasyoki, and a Mercedes Actros trailer ferrying a container of used shoes from Mombasa to Congo.

3. Overtaking led to the crash.

According to preliminary police investigations, the Ford Ranger overtook the trailer and cut in abruptly, leading to a rear-end collision.

Both vehicles lost control and veered off the road.

4. The container toppled on the Ford Ranger.

In the chaos, the container the trailer was carrying toppled and landed directly on Kasyoki’s Ford Ranger, causing fatal damage.

5. Kasyoki died on the spot

Due to the force of the impact, Dennis Kasyoki died instantly, leaving friends, family, and the wider community in deep shock.

6. One passenger was injured

Another passenger in the Ford Ranger, identified as James Mwangangi Mulatya, sustained injuries and was rushed to Shalom Community Hospital in Athi River with complaints of general body pain.

7. The trailer driver survived

The trailer driver, Abdullahi Ouru Hillow, escaped the accident unhurt.

Traffic police officers from Athi River documented the scene, and the wreckages were towed to Athi River Police Station.
