The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 23rd that it will host the ‘2025 K-GEO Festa’ from the 24th to the 26th at the KINTEX Hall 1 Exhibition Center in Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport explained that the K-GEO Festa, now in its 17th year, is South Korea’s largest international spatial information event, held annually to strengthen the competitiveness of the spatial information industry—a core infrastructure of the Fourth Industrial Revolution—and foster a future innovation-driven industrial ecosystem.

This year’s event will be held under the theme “GeoAI Opening Change, Awakening the World.” Through technology exhibitions, conferences, and business programs, it will highlight the latest spatial information technologies and smart innovations driven by spatial information artificial intelligence.

Over 100 domestic and international institutions will participate in the exhibition, showcasing cutting-edge spatial information technologies and services across four zones: Data Vision, Smart Convergence Platform, Industrial Innovation and Social Safety Net, and Future Talent and Innovation Ecosystem.

The Data Vision Zone will feature AI-based satellite image analysis technologies used in agriculture, defense, and environmental sectors, as well as real-time data collection technologies utilizing high-precision LiDAR sensors—core technologies in autonomous driving and robotics.

The Smart Convergence Platform Zone will demonstrate how the convergence of spatial information technology and AI creates changes in daily life, including GeoAI-based spatial information solutions and 3D real estate analysis services with conversational AI. It will also exhibit digital twin-based administrative platform services that support innovation in public administration.

The Industrial Innovation and Social Safety Net Zone will showcase 3D modeling data construction services for efficient urban infrastructure management. The Future Talent and Innovation Ecosystem Zone will display research outcomes and practical projects from 10 universities nationwide involved in spatial information fields.

Additionally, 19 conferences and side events will be held during the event, featuring experts from domestic and international industry, academia, research, and government sectors. On the 24th, the inaugural “K-GEO Future Innovation Forum” will be launched. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport explained that the forum, as a representative policy platform in the spatial information sector, will focus on three areas—safety and infrastructure, new industries and convergence, and systems and data—to identify key issues and explore solutions through public-private collaboration.

Alongside diverse conferences, including one on “The Convergence of Smart Construction and Spatial Information,” special lectures will be held by author Song Gilyoung on “An Era of Understanding Myself Through Big Data” and Choi Hongsub, CEO of Maum AI, on “Spatial Information and Physical AI.”

Business support programs will also operate to assist domestic companies in expanding overseas and attracting global investment. An investment attraction competition for startups will provide on-site matching opportunities with professional investors, and for the first time at the event, over 50 overseas professional buyers will be invited to support business meetings for domestic SMEs and startups.

This year’s event will expand international cooperation networks by officially inviting 25 high-level officials from nine countries, including Bangladesh and Mongolia. On the 24th and 26th, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport will sign MOUs with Bangladesh’s Ministry of Land, Mongolia’s Ministry of Construction, Urban Development, and Housing, and Ethiopia’s Ministry of Urban Infrastructure to expand spatial information policy exchanges and lay the groundwork for overseas expansion.

Lee Sang-kyung, First Vice Minister of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, stated, “GeoAI, which combines spatial information and artificial intelligence, is a driving force for innovation across all industries and public administration.” He added, “We expect this event to serve as a starting point for cooperation and leapfrogging advancements in the innovations that spatial information AI will create.”
