Revealed: The $3,000 device that tech billionaires Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk swear has led to their...
It is the gadget that billionaires Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg swear is the key to their success.
But this £5,000 piece of tech isn't some cutting-edge supercomputer or AI-powered robot assistant.
Instead, billionaires and Silicon Valley elite are forking over thousands for high-tech mattresses to optimise their sleep.
Eight Sleep, the startup behind these pricey smart beds, claims its mattresses can give you 25 per cent more deep sleep and even cure your snoring.
The company's Pod product consists of a sensor-packed mattress cover which connects to a large 'hub' and an adjustable base.
This system constantly monitors the sleeper's body temperature and position, providing heating or cooling through an in-built water pump.
The bed will even track sleeping habits and automatically learn how to improve the night's sleep, before waking the user with thermal and vibrating alarms.
However, sleeping like a billionaire doesn't come cheap, and the top-of-the-line model will set you back at least £5,137.

For the full sleeping experience, customers also have the option to pay a further £850 for a blanket that can connect to the Pod's heating and cooling system.
But the expenses don't stop there, since becoming the owner of this mattress requires more than a one-off payment.
First-time customers are also required to purchase a yearly subscription to Eight Sleep's Autopilot app.
This is what allows the mattress to automatically monitor temperatures and adjust the flow of heating to either side of the bed so you and your partner both sleep easy.
The Autopilot app even boasts 'snore detection and mitigation' software, which uses the base to raise or lower someone's sleeping position until they stop snoring.
According to Eight Sleep, this has been shown to create a 45 per cent reduction in snoring and lead to users waking up 23 per cent less in the night.
However, even the basic subscription costs £199 per year, while the 'Elite' package comes in at £399 per year.
While that might seem absurd for most people, Eight Sleep has become the darling of efficiency-obsessed tech elites.

Writing on Threads, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that he had 'really dialled in my sleep with Eight Sleep and Oura'.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk also endorsed the product on his own social media platform, X, writing simply, 'it's good'.
The expensive mattress system has also been championed by millionaire biohacker and longevity guru Bryan Johnson.
That popularity has made Eight Sleep extremely successful, despite its extraordinarily narrow target market.
The company recently raised a further £74.5 million ($100m) in funding, bringing its reported value close to £745 million ($1bn).
Eight Sleep claims that sales of the Pod have already generated more than £372 million ($500 million) since its introduction in 2019.
However, the company is now planning to expand and target more 'normal' people who might be willing to spend on better sleep.
Eight Sleep’s co-founder, Alexandra Zatarain, told the Wall Street Journal: 'Our audience is still someone who’s spending $3,000 on a high-tech device to help them sleep better.

'But they are normal people—they are doctors and they are dancers and they are teachers.'
At the same time, Eight Sleep is attempting to get certification so that the Pod can be used as a medically prescribed treatment that would be claimable on health insurance.
The company says that Pod could be used to treat sleep apnoea or use its cooling system to counter hot flushes during menopause.
Ms Zatarain says: 'We will keep developing innovations that will get us into more households.'
