Patriots of Nogokpo Mark Fifth Anniversary

By Evans Worlanyo Ameamu, GNA

Nogokpo (VR), November 12, GNA – Members of the Nogokpo Association in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region have marked their fifth anniversary.

The Organization, acting as a bridge for unity, camaraderie, and shared goals, also aims to promote development initiatives within the Nogokpo community and further afield.

Mr. Bright Agbesi Bokorvi, the founder of the organization, mentioned during the anniversary gathering at Nogokpo that one of the group's goals was to establish a community where members could assist each other during challenging times.

"The Association was established in 2020, and five years ago, this idea of uniting us for a shared goal—supporting one another during difficult times—started as a WhatsApp group," he stated.

So, we set up a WhatsApp group and invited many friends. We promoted our vision, and many embraced the ideas, which is how distant from God we have become. And we are expanding into a bigger family and community for greater and better growth.

He stated that the primary goal was to assist one another during events such as weddings, graduations, naming ceremonies, and times of loss, among other situations, to aid those in need and the broader community.

Mr. George Nathaniel Kudaya, the Secretary of the Association, further mentioned that the organization was not solely about financial assistance but also served as a medium for mutual growth in terms of knowledge, ideas, and mentorship.

He mentioned that during the five-year span, the Association had not only offered financial and moral assistance to its members but had also evolved into a venue for learning, exchanging thoughts, and encouraging the sense of unity to enhance the drive for community development in Nogokpo.

Mr. Kudaya encouraged other residents of Nogokpo, who have not yet become part of the Association, to join and invite others, supporting each other during both happy and challenging times. This will foster friendship and kindness, with dedication and unity, making a genuine impact on people's lives.

He encouraged the members to consider how much they had accomplished and the efforts that had led them to their current position, and to stay loyal and devoted to the Association as they had always been since the start.

The Secretary also urged others to recommit themselves to the principles that bring the community together, such as love, support, respect, and progress, and to keep discovering fresh, creative methods to uplift one another, expand the membership, and increase the community's influence.

He took the chance to recognize both previous and current leaders for their commitment and assistance to the Association throughout the years.

Member of the Assembly Mr. Jonas Fotor Agbagba, representing the Nogokpo/Ativuta Electoral Area, called on the association members to maintain their concentration on their duties and remain honest in pursuing their goals.

He stated that for the Association to remain robust, unity and concentration were essential, adding, "I recall approximately 10 years ago, a similar association was launched here, but as we speak today, they have vanished completely."

Mr. Agbagba called on chiefs, community leaders, and all involved parties to set aside their disagreements and back the Association in realizing its goals, while also encouraging all residents of Nogokpo, both within the area and overseas, to lend their support to the community in different ways.

Several association members who communicated with Ghana News Agency expressed their dedication to assist one another and the community in driving progress.
