On the 13th, according to individuals who are aware of the situation, Chief Prosecutor Im Poong-sung from Criminal Division 3 at the Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office published a statement titled "Do Not Further Damage the Reputation of Prosecutors" on the prosecution's internal network on the evening of the 11th. Senior Prosecutor I also strongly reprimanded Senior Prosecutor Jeong Jin-woo from the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, who indicated his intention to resign. Senior Prosecutor Jeong should also feel embarrassed." This criticism implies that Senior Prosecutor Jeong's choice to comply with the Supreme Prosecutors' Office's order to drop the appeal was wrong.
Furthermore, Chief Prosecutor Im informed Acting Prosecutor General Noh Man-seok, "I have a lot to say, but I will hold back," and stated, "I don't want to witness any more embarrassing behavior." Chief Prosecutor Im graduated from the 38th session at the Judicial Research and Training Institute and has been actively involved in investigative work at the Gwangju, Suwon, and Jeonju District Prosecutors' Offices. In September 2023, he was named Deputy Head of Criminal Division 3 at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, which handles major offenses like murder. He later moved to his present role as Head of Criminal Division 3 at the Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office during the personnel adjustments in August.
